Aerobay
Exploring Aviation, Robotics and Innovation
The Aerobay Lab at VGS offers a one-of-a-kind learning environment that brings together aviation, robotics, STEM, engineering, and hands-on innovation. Designed to encourage curiosity and experimentation, the lab gives students opportunities to move beyond theoretical learning and explore how ideas can be transformed into real-world models, prototypes, and working projects.
Depending on their level of learning and experience, students engage in a wide range of activities, including 3D printing, laser cutting, robotics, RC aircraft and rover building, drone technology, aeromodelling, model rocketry, electronics, and structural design. As students progress, they are introduced to more advanced areas such as resin printing, precision fabrication, CNC-style processes, milling, aeromodelling, flight simulation, and advanced drone projects.
The lab also encourages interdisciplinary learning by connecting Science, Mathematics, Technology, Engineering, and Design. Through projects that involve designing, building, testing, and improving their creations, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, and an innovation mindset.
The Aerobay Lab is designed to nurture students who are not only curious about how things work but are also inspired to imagine, design, build, experiment, and innovate. It provides a strong foundation for students interested in exploring the future of aviation, aerospace, robotics, engineering, and emerging technologies.
