MIT VGS Sangli organised a Parents Teacher’s Meeting as well as a Parent Connect Programme for grades VI-X. The main objective of the meeting was to create a common platform, where teachers and parents came together to discuss student’s performance and devise ways to enrich their learning experience. Parents became aware of the institute’s rules and regulations, and methodologies of teaching and learning for the overall welfare of students. Parents were encouraged to appreciate students’ participation in all academic and co-curricular activities. The event witnessed maximum attendance thus displaying enthusiastic interest among parents for the smooth working and progress of the school. The teachers briefed the parents about their ward’s performance during Periodic Assessment-1, together they identified the areas of strengths and weaknesses of the child and sorted out ways to boost the child’s performance. This helped to create the necessary consciousness among parents to stimulate their interest in the students and the school. They gave their viewpoints and suggestions regarding the schools and their development. Interaction between parents, class teachers, and subject teachers was done. There was a discussion on student’s performance in individual subjects, student’s discipline in classrooms, and their attendance percentage. This meeting helped to create a better understanding between parents and teachers and build a harmonious relationship between the school and the community. The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that the progress and development of the students depend on the joint efforts of parents and teachers.
