“The more difficult the victory, the greater the happiness of winning” Sports and games are an integral part of our lives and have become a way of life for a healthy and fit India. Sports can teach values such as fairness, team building, equality, discipline, inclusion, perseverance, and respect. MIT VGS Loni celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August 2023, to pay tribute to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, who won gold medals for India in the Olympics in 1928, 1932, and 1936. A special assembly was organised, and the event began with a world peace prayer followed by an array of events. A power-packed callisthenics dance and other dance performances showcasing various games and sports personalities mesmerised everybody. The Chief Guest delivered a motivational speech in which he advised everyone to participate in the field of sports and also emphasised the benefits of sports activities. Thereafter, the Principal encouraged the students to cherish and groom their bodies with physical exercises and keep fit. She also motivated the students to represent the school at national and international events. Interhouse matches were organised by the sports department for grades VI-VIII and IX-X respectively. All the students were very excited, after all this was the time to enjoy activities beyond academics.
