MIT VGS Barshi celebrated the 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023, to commemorate the spirit of freedom struggle and the reflection of the feeling of sacrifice. It was a tribute to the country’s martyrs. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Nation First, Always First,” an integral part of the broader “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” Celebration.

The Principal along with the Chief Guest for the day hoisted the tricolour followed by the national anthem. Many dignitaries marked the occasion. The event was celebrated with unprecedented patriotic fervour. The students pledged to be devoted to the nation’s well-being, happiness, and prosperity. It was followed by a gamut of cultural activities. The students zealously participated in the activities planned.

Patriotic songs sung by the students invigorated the feelings of pure devotion, loyalty, and respect for the nation. Students paid homage to the legends, martyrs, and freedom fighters through their speeches and poems which inspired and ignited patriotic fervour within. There is no bigger sacrifice known to man than to lay down one’s life in the nation’s defence. To commemorate 77 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements, the students gave mesmerizing dance performances with all their energy, passion, and love for the motherland.

The program concluded with gaiety all around followed by a vote of thanks. Chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ rang out. A myriad of activities were concluded with gusto and enthusiasm.
