The students of MIT VGS Loni Kalbhor participated in an array of activities during the ‘‘GANITOTSAV-2023 (MATHS WEEK)’’ from 4th to 8th December 2023, with the belief that “Mathematics is for Everyone”. The objective was to foster a positive attitude towards mathematics, promote mathematical thinking, and enhance students’ understanding of various mathematical concepts.
The students of grades 1 to 10 were engaged in different hands-on activities. Students developed their methods of performing operations on numbers in daily life (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), they also developed language and symbolic notations with standard algorithms for performing number operations.
Overall students enjoyed the Math Week as a new experience by relating it to daily life. They demonstrated improved teamwork skills and an appreciation for collaborative learning in mathematics.
