ASSESSMENT AND PROMOTION POLICY FOR GRADE XI​

1. As per the Standard Operating Procedure, SOP prescribed by the CBSE, at least 75 percent attendance is mandatory for a student to appear in the Session Ending Examination. 2. The qualifying marks for Grade XI students in each subject for promotion shall be 33% in each subject. 3. It is to further clarify that in a subject where the practical component is involved; separate qualifying marks (33%) are required in the Theory component and the Practical component. This implies that students need to secure 33% out of 70/80 marks in Theory and 33% out of 20/30 marks in Practical separately. 4. Similarly students need to secure separate qualifying marks (33%) in the Theory component (33% out of 70/80) and Internal Assessment (33% out of 20/30) for subjects having Internal Assessment. 5. The overall 33% marks are also required for the promotion of the students in next higher class. 6. Students failing in one of the five subjects in Class XI will be placed under Compartment in that subject and students failing in more than one subject will be treated as ‘Essential Repeat’.

SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMINATION

1. Supplementary Examination in the pattern of Annual Examination for Grade XI will be conducted three weeks after the declaration of results. 2. Students need to secure 33% in the Supplementary Examination (Theory only) to qualify for the next higher class.
