Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational model of the United Nations used for simulations in which students learn about diplomacy and international relations. At a MUN conference, each student works as the representative of a country, organization, or person and must solve a problem with other delegates from around the world.

Students at MIT VGS are provided the opportunity to participate in the MUN which helps them acquire skills such as research, public speaking, debating, writing, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. MUN allows students to develop a deeper understanding of current world issues and world politics. Participation in an activity like MUN can help students stand out from others in their college application.
