The Annual Sports Meet event was organized with grandeur for three days at MIT VGS Gurukul school from 30th January to 1st February. The detailed elaboration of three successful days events is as follows:
Day 1 : 30th Jan’2020
Day 1 began with the sports events arranged for Pre-Primary to Grade V students. The programme began with the welcome ceremony of the chief guest. The principal, Mrs. Sangeeta Mehrotra welcomed the chief guest and the Introduction of the chief guest was done by Ms.Namita Athanikar. The Sports Day was inaugurated by the torch bearers of all the four houses of the school. Principal Madam officially declared that the event was open.
The much-awaited track and field the events started with lots of excitement and enthusiasm. The budding athletes of Pre- Primary actively participated in all the events. Various games like pick and run race, ball race, Running race, Shot Put etc. Enthused all the participants and the viewers also and the school campus reverberated with the enthusiastic cheers from all. The students were selected for the final events which were to be held on 1st February 2020. The day ended with Vande Mataram by all the students.
Day 2 : 31st Jan’2020
The day 2 began with the early crowd of the Secondary students Grade VI to X. All the group events were very well organized and games like Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Cricket, Football etc were arranged for the students. Group events like Cricket, Football etc depicted the mutual understanding, strategies and team work between the team members which was aimed at winning and winning only with great sportsman spirit. The Day ended with the Semi Finalists to face the final events the next day.
Day 3: 1st Feb’2020
The day 3 marked with the enthusiastic presence of the parents to see their wards performing in the final events. The final matches of Football and Kabaddi of Secondary grade students were arranged and the same was watched with great interest and excitement. The day also marked for the events arranged for parents! Events like Sack race, Lemon and Spoon etc were arranged for parents. All the students were keen and enthusiastic to see their parents performing. Various events were also arranged for teachers, admin staff, bus staff, security staff etc. The special highlight of this day was the Principal herself took the charge of anchoring these events. She motivated each and every participant and ensured that her cheering words enthused all the students.
The dance performances, musical songs, various drills including Lezim were incorporated in between the events to cheer and entertain the crowds. The day ended with the Prize distribution ceremony by the Principal and other eminent teachers. The students were thrilled to witness their parents receiving the prizes. A big accolade for Grade VIII students who efficiently volunteered the crowd for three days.
The three grand successful days ended with beautiful memories for all the parents and students for the colourful events organized by the school.
