Grandparents are the family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers and the keepers of traditions. To honor them, the Pre-Primary and Primary section of MAEER’s MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School, Solapur invited the grandparents to celebrate Grandparents Day on 20th January 2020.
The function started with welcoming the guests with ‘Tilak Ceremony’. The primary section enthusiastically performed a welcome dance followed by a recitation of sweet poem which was dedicated to all the grandparents.
To have an inclusive interaction with the grandparents, we had arranged a variety of games like Save your balloon, Musical Chairs, Dodge ball, proverb game, etc which was enjoyed by all the grandparents thoroughly. The kind of enthusiasm shown by the grandparents was indeed commendable. Appropriate music and enthusiastic team of Grandparent-Grandchild made all the games a runway hit.
A painting activity was conducted in which both the grandparents and grandchild had to do hand printing using paints on a chart paper which was later given to them as a token of memory of this lovely day.
The grandparents were also given a chance to share their thoughts and views and they such lovely things to say which was indeed mesmerizing and motivating.
The guests were served some light snacks with freshly brewed tea to refresh themselves. A handmade selfie frame, which was artistically made by the pre-primary teachers for the grandparents and grandchild were given to them to preserve attractive memorable pictures.
The mood was one of exultation and happiness. An evening which celebrated the strong bond between the grandparents and the grandchild was indeed a special one which would be remembered over a long period of time. The school as always would be pleased to organize many such events in the future.
