A Hands-On Learning Experience of Indian History at Aga Khan Palace

The students of Grades 1 and 2 of MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School, Loni Kalbhor visited the historic Aga Khan Palace on 25th September. The trip aimed to help children learn about Indian history, the freedom struggle, and the values of non-violence. The journey began with joyful songs and interactive lessons about landmarks and road safety.

At the palace, students discovered its history—built in 1892 by Sultan Aga Khan III to help famine-affected villagers and later used as a prison during the Quit India Movement. They learned about Mahatma Gandhi, Kasturba Gandhi, and Mahadev Desai’s contributions and memorials. The visit ended with lunch and reflections, leaving students inspired and proud of India’s rich heritage.
