Maharashtra Day Celebrations @ MIT VGS Sangli

MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul Schools celebrated Maharashtra Day and International Labour Day on 1 May 2023, to commemorate the formation of the state of Maharashtra after its division from the Bombay State on 1 May 1960. The event was celebrated with great pride and fervor.

Students also paid homage through their speeches and poems, the true pride of Maharashtra’s legends, freedom fighters like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Lata Mangeshkar, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Savitribai Phule, and many more Mesmerizing performances were presented by the children. Cultural Programme showcased rich culture, glorious history of heroism, the fusion of art, and various forms of dance with great pomp and show. Folk dance, lezim, and powada highlighted the energy and vibrant culture of Maharashtra. To mark the labour day a skit depicting the importance of labour was showcased.

It was a delight to visualize the children and teachers in their traditional and colourful attire. It was a moment of joy and pride. The celebration was a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra and the pride that the people of the state feel for their traditions.
