Heritage Week Celebration (Primary) at MIT VGS Solapur
“People without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture are like a tree without roots.”
To increase awareness about our rich cultural heritage, MAEER’s MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul Schools conducted the Heritage Week, beginning from August 16, 2022. A special assembly was held on August 18, the students pledged to protect and preserve the heritage of our country. Showcasing unity in diversity, students performed an enthralling and foot tapping dance.
The students of the primary section took part in the activities by making models of various landforms and monuments of India. The students also made collages and posters highlighting the different cuisines across India. Students pointed out the various ways through which monuments can be preserved. Students from various grades brought vibrance by dressing up to represent different states of our country.
The culmination of the activities was exhibited on August 20 in the school premises. Parents were encouraged to visit and take part in the competitions held exclusively for them. Some of the competitions conducted were Sahitya (Narration of folktales), Swaad (Preparation of traditional recipes) and Rangoli competition.
The weeklong events were a huge success and it created a festive environment in the school and instilled pride in the hearts of all who were a part of the Heritage Week Celebration.
