Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration (Pre primary) at MIT VGS Solapur
The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated by the students of the pre-primary wing of MAEER’s MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul Schools on Tuesday, 30th August 2022. Festivals build ‘group cohesiveness’. Ganesh chaturthi, a Hindu festival that marks the birthday of Lord Ganesh is celebrated with much fervour and joy. The festival is celebrated by installing Lord Ganesha’s idol. It is important to remember that Lokmanya Tilak was the architect of this mass celebration.
The students were dressed in ethnic wear. A special assembly on the occasion was conducted, which commenced with the Ganesh Vandana and Aarti. Teachers explained the significance of the festival followed by songs on the theme. To mark the beginning of this festival mood, the story was narrated to the children with a video. The students also displayed handmade clay Ganesh idols with the help of their teachers.
The sole purpose of the celebration was to stay rooted with Indian culture and to enable them to understand the significance of the festival. The day ended with a lot of learning. The festival brought devotion, creativity, understanding and learning. Overall it was an enjoyable day for all.
