National Sports Day Celebration @ MIT VGS Loni Kalbhor

One man practicing sportsmanship is far better than 50 preaching it.”

Every year, National Sports Day is celebrated in India on August 29 to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. The day also aims to honour champions from different sports and encourage young kids to excel in sports.

So to celebrate the National Sports Day, we have planned few sport activities for our children and executed the same on the ground. The activities like swimming competition, Cricket matches, Football matches, Athletics Volleyball matches, Kho- Kho, Kadaddi, Basketball and Organic games were performed by the students. Students have also enjoyed some Indoor sports like Dance, Hoola Hooping, Spot Jogging, Yoga and Carrom.   We believe that sports participation may aid in the development of physical skills, such as hand-eye coordination; functional movement skills and strength; and academic, self-regulatory, and general life skills. It also may have positive social benefits, leading to both improved social identity and social adjustment.

We, at MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul Schools always want our students to be the responsible as well as sensitive citizens of future India. So we tried to inculcate the value of sportsmanship to deal with failure and problems.

The day was celebrated with lots of energy and enthusiasm.
