Sports and games are an integral part of our life and have become a way of life for a healthy and fit India.
National Sports Day has been celebrated on 29th of August every year. It marks the birth anniversary of the hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand. The Government of India has decided to celebrate his birthday as the National Sports Day since 2012.
As we all know sports develop a sense of friendliness and team spirit. It helps to develop physical toughness and mental health. It shapes the body, makes it strong and active.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, National Sports Day the MIT’s Vishwashanti Gurukul Sschool, Sangli organized a special Assembly by students from Grade IX. The event started with World peace prayer. Ms. Renu Jadhav hoisted the assembly and Ms. Riya gave information about Major Dhyanchand. Principal Sir delivered a speech on the benefit of different sports. A Quiz was also organized in the Activity Room wherein children from grades VI to IX participated enthusiastically in it and were made to sit House wise. Students played and enjoyed our traditional games. Non participants encouraged their group timely as per the rounds.
