Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebration @MIT VGS Kothrud
26th July 1999, a day dedicated to the martyrs of the Kargil War, to pay tribute and remember the martyrdom of the brave Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Just like any other war, the consequences of this war were also catastrophic. India lost many valiant soldiers. The Kargil Victory Day was celebrated at MAEER’s MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School, Kothrud on 26 th July 2022 with great reverence, paying homage to the brave soldiers.
The event commenced with the World Peace Prayer followed by the pledge and school song. The students of grade 10 lit candles to pay their respects for the sacrifice of the brave soldiers. A student presented the thought of the day followed by the welcome speech by the Head Girl. The students of grade 7 and 8 mesmerised the audience with a patriotic song, sung in Sanskrit.
The students of grade 8 performed a skit on the theme which left the audience spellbound. A foot tapping and invigorating dance performance was presented by the students of grade 6 which created a patriotic feeling amongst all. The Chief Guest, Mrs. Bindu Kulkarni, an ex – Airforce Officer appreciated the discipline and efforts taken by the students for their wonderful performances. She was thoroughly impressed by the students and guided them about joining the Defence Services. The guest of honour was felicitated by the Principal, Mrs. Sharada Rao. The Principal reiterated the importance of national duty in her speech. The event was indeed a success!
