Guru Purnima Celebration @MITVGS Kothrud

The festival of Guru Purnima was celebrated in the pre-school section of MAEER’s MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School Kothrud, Pune, on Wednesday, 13th July 2022. To honour the teachers, an event was organised in the school with intense zeal and zest.

Guru Purnima is celebrated to acknowledge the contribution of the teachers. Celebrating this feeling of gratitude is ‘Guru Purnima’. The teacher imparts education, hence the role of the teacher is of paramount importance both in the present and future of a student.

The day started with a prayer for gurus and beautiful speech. The students of nursery, Jr. and Sr. kindergarten entertained everyone with a welcome song. The children understood the meaning and significance of this day. The teachers explained the importance of a Guru in our life. The children were shown beautiful videos. It was a sweet and touching moment when the students made greeting cards for their mothers, their first Gurus. A story was presented by a Sr. KG student highlighting the guru’s role in shaping the students life.

Parents, grandparents, teachers and friends are all teaching us something good all the time. So on this day we thank all who have dispelled ignorance from our life. The program concluded with gaiety all around.
