Van Mahotsav Celebration @ MITVGS Loni Kalbhor
Van Mahotsav or Forest Festival is an annual tree-planting festival celebrated in the month of July in which thousands of trees are planted all over the country. Van Mahotsav Week is celebrated from 1st July to 7th July to spread awareness of forest conservation and to save the environment.
Keeping the need and the demand of our nature in mind, students of Grade 4-Amethyst got the opportunity to throw light on the importance of trees by present a special assembly on ‘Van Mahotsav’. The class teacher of Grade 4 Amethyst along with the dance teacher set-up a dance performance on the song ‘Na Kato muze…’ On the day of execution, the assembly started with the World peace prayer followed by pledge, vision, mission and news. Then Mst. Anvit presented the word of the day: ‘ REFORESTATION’ followed by the Thought of the Day: ‘Trees are Rare, Keep them with Care’ presented by Ms. Harshitha. The information about Van Mahotsav was shared by Ms. Tanishka and then the students performed a skit giving a message not to cut the trees and the skit ended with an amazing dance performance.
After assembly, the students were addressed by Principal ma’am and made them realized the importance of tree plantation and were told to plant at least one sapling after going home. They promised to take care of that plant as well as the other plants in the surrounding.
The day was enjoyable and full of nature related information.
