Van Mahotsav celebration @MITVGS Kothrud
The Pre-School students and teachers of MAEER’s MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School Kothrud, Pune, celebrated Van Mahotsav Day in the school premises on Tuesday, 5th July 2022. Van Mahotsav is an annual tree planting festival celebrated in India. It is celebrated in the first week of July as this coincides with the onset of the monsoon.
The students were made to understand and appreciate the role played by the planting of trees through a video clip. This was followed by the planting of saplings. The students showed great eagerness while planting the saplings. They were told about the importance of trees and were given simple instructions on how to take care of the same. These various activities help to instill the value of social responsibility in the students.
The main objective behind celebrating Van Mahotsav was to promote and spread awareness among the students. The program ended with a pledge not to cut trees. It was indeed an innovative and informative celebration.
