Van Mahotsav Celebration @MITVGS Sangli

Van Mahotsav is an annual tree-planting festival celebrated in the month of July in which thousands of trees are planted all over the country. In MIT-VGS, Sangli, the Van Mahotsav Week was celebrated from 4th July to 8th July 2022. The programme was organized in the school to promote afforestation programs and the growth of trees.Various activities were arranged during the week and opened to all students. The activities were carried out in the stipulated school hours.

The event kicked off on Monday, 4th July, 2022. The first group to start with was Grade 1st ,2ndand 3rd. Each participant was allowed to draw pictures with the help of different shapes of vegetables with an activity ‘VEGETABLE PRINTING’. All the students from the respective grades have taken part in this activity with great enthusiasm and great energy.

On the next day of Van Mahotsav Week students of Grade 4th ,5th and 6th participated in slogan writing competition. Competition theme was ‘I AM YOUR FRIEND’ where students wrote some attention grabbing slogans.

On the third day POSTER MAKING COMPETITION was conducted on the theme ‘AMAZING WORLD OF PLANTS’ for the pupils of grades 7th and 8th in which they took part spontaneously. On 7th of July, NUKKAD NATAK was performed by the students of grade 9 to save trees and forests.The audience was entertained yet inspired by a drama performance.

The last day was reserved for display of best art work where some of the best work done by students was displayed. students were really excited to see amazing work done by them throughout the week.
