World Music day celebration @MITVGS Barshi

International yoga Day and World Music Day were celebrated in a special assembly in November 2018, for students of Nursery to Grade 10 of SMT. PRAYAG KARAD VISHWASHANTI ENGLISH MEDIUM HIGH SCHOOL, Barshi . It was a day of excitement for the teachers and students both as school has just resumed from a month long summer vacation.

To celebrate health and music together and bring forth the value of both, a special assembly was conducted by students. Paying a musical tribute on the occasion of World Music Day, a mesmerizing prayer medley was performed by the students, which was a combination of Vishwashanti Prayer, Saraswati Poojan, Bandish by Saanvi & Janhavi (Grade VI), Information about Classical Musicians & their instruments by Saara (Grade VII), Raag Durga Bandish by Priyanka Ganacharya (Grade IX) accompanied by Sayali (Grade VII) on harmonium, the history of music in India by Palak Kabra , Zindagi ek safar – Harmonium Instrumental by Saara (Grade VII) and Music Teacher Mr.Shripad Kulkarni, Raghupati Raghav Rajaram – bhajan by Palak Kabra and many more.

The participants presented each and every performance with great pomp and show. Their enthusiasm was heart winning.

The programme ended with a motivating speech by Principal Mrs. Rekha Patil. She encouraged students to practice learn music. This celebration of music not only played a vital role in the overall holistic development of the students but also created awareness among the children about the importance of music in our life.
