INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY – YOGA FOR HUMANITY AND PEACE AT MIT VGS

International Yoga Day celebrates the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world stage. To connect the body, mind, and soul MAEER’S Vishwashanti Gurukul School, Kothrud celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21, 2022, on Tuesday. This day is the longest day of the year also known as the summer solstice. A special assembly was conducted on the theme of this year’s Yoga Day celebration ‘Yoga for Humanity’. All the students took part in various events doing Yoga in unison towards better health and wellness for all.

The event began with a world peace prayer followed by a pledge. The students pledged to perform yoga, as a part of their daily lives so as to increase their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. The yoga session was held on the school grounds. A group of students who were yoga experts performed several asanas. They performed warm-up exercises and various sitting and standing asanas. The students performed with them which was followed by Omkar chanting.
