Parent Orientation Program @ MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School Kothrud

Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students, and enthusiastic parents with high expectations. MAEER’s MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul Schools, Kothrud organized an orientation program on 4th June 2022 for the new set of parents to familiarize them as valuable partners in progress with the curriculum, rules, and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities.

The program commenced with the world peace prayer. The parents were warmly welcomed to the MIT fraternity and given a brief presentation to apprise them with the school ethos and spirit. The parents were addressed by showing a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation about the philosophy of education, a glimpse into the various activities, events, and facilities of the school. It also highlighted the areas of work of the Central Academic and Research Team, its curriculum design, and training of staff development. The challenge to be ‘the best you can be’ is supported by a holistic approach to learning at MIT VGS. The classroom programs are rich and engaging which allows every student access to an environment where they can participate and excel. Assessment through daily learning work, class participation and discussion, learning activities, and peer interactions occupy a significant part of a child’s learning profile. The school also has a quarterly magazine ‘The Gurukul Times’ to encourage students’ power of thinking and strengthen their imagination develop their writing skills and talent. To guide, advise, recommend, consult and assist with the nearly limitless variety of concerns, the school also has an eminent counsellor.

To provide a comfortable and encouraging learning environment, to instill the passion of performers, a foundation program for students of Grade 8 to 10 is introduced for the academic year 2022-2023. The program aims to train students for IIT, JEE, and NEET entrance exams from experienced, expert faculty and it charges no extra fees for MITians.

The importance of physical classes was highlighted. It emphasized the need to encounter the myriad challenges of the students for which the mutual understanding and support between school and parents are a must. It was made clear that the school is strictly going to follow all standard operating procedures as per the CBSE norms. The parents were briefed about the regular sanitization of washrooms and classrooms, sanitizer stands in and around the classrooms, first aid kit, digital thermometer, and availability of the doctors on call. Parents were addressed about the expected behaviour of the students to follow covid-19 protocols and to get vaccinated as per their turn.

The session ended with an interactive discussion where the queries by the parents were addressed by the Principal, Mrs. Sharada Rao. Parents attended the meeting in large numbers. Overall, it was a fruitful meeting and parents were in high spirits after attending the orientation program.
